Artist Statement

I am interested in how we interact with each other and the world around us. Systems are comprised of unrelated forces that push everything in motion and create harmony. My art aims to show these chaotic elements and how they combine to create repetition and pattern.  

Biography

Joseph A. Corcoran is a glass and neon artist working in the greater DC, Baltimore area. He graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) with an MFA in Studio Art, and has a BS in Mathematics from the U.S. Naval Academy . He started teaching and exhibiting upon learning the basics in blowing glass. Since then he has exhibited his work nationally including solo and selected group shows. He also has been commissioned to do many outdoor and indoor pieces for both public and private collections.
